Snowy Summer Earrings

snowy-summer-earrings.jpgThese fun and playful earrings are a springtime and summer delight that go with nearly everything. You’ll have fun making them, too.

I’d actually had the placement of the beads different when I first began making these earrings. I’d placed the pearl at the bottom and the small bead within the wire wrapping at the top. But I quickly realized that the small bead within the wire wrapping worked best as the lowest dangler; they are all the more eye-catching this way!

You’ll need only a couple of ear wires, jump rings, eye-pins, 6mm glass pearls, 8mm glass pearls, those special little beads comprised of spiral wrapped wire, wire cutters and chain-nose pliers.

First, prepare your 8mm glass beads by putting them on eye pins and making a loop at the end. Use jump rings to connect the beaded eyepin to the earwires. Got it? Good. Now use your finger or your chain-nose pliers to gently open the spiral wrapped wire and drop your 6mm glass pearl inside. Pull your chain-nose pliers out and the wire should snap right back into place with the little bead inside. Now use a jump ring to connect the wire wrapped portion to the beaded double eyepin portion. Nice, right? What could be better? How about a matching anklet? We’ll do that project next time. Enjoy!
