This sophisticated necklace and earring set has classic appeal and boasts easy wearable style for those who enjoy more understated accessories. And it’s insanely easy to create!
First things first. Round up some antique gold colored chain, faceted glass beads, rectangular-shaped Unakite beads, small gold spacer beads, gold beading wire, crimp beads, crimp covers, headpins, ear wires, and an antique gold colored clasp. As for your tools, you’ll need round-nose pliers, chain-nose pliers, crimping pliers and wire cutters. Now, you’re good to go!
Separate your chain into two pieces of equal length, and set it aside.
Cut a length of beading wire and string on a crimp cover, and then a crimp bead. Crimp your crimp bead, then move your crimp cover over your crimp bead, snipping off any excess wire, and closing your crimp cover. Leave the arm of your crimp cover extended; we’ll fold it down once we connect it to the chain. Now string your beads onto the wire with your Unakite focal bead in the center between the two gold round spacers. Once you’re done with that, finish off this section by adding your crimp cover and then your crimp bead. Close your crimp cover down over your crimp bead, but leave the arm of your crimp cover extended.
Take one of your two equal lengths of chain and connect the arm of the crimp cover to the last link in the chain. Do the same thing for the second length of chain and the other arm of the crimp cover.
Now your necklace is almost finished! To add the lobster clasp, gently open the last link at the end of the chain, slide the lobster clasp on and close the link.
Finally, for the necklace, you’ll attach a dangling bead by putting a glass bead and a gold spacer bead on a headpin and making a loop at the end. Before you close the loop, however, you’ll put it on the last link in the chain (opposite the lobster clasp), and then close the loop. Great! Now onto the earrings!
For the earrings, you’ll simply put your Unakite beads on the headpins first, then your faceted glass beads. Make a loop at the end, connecting the glass beads to the ear wires before closing the loop. Enjoy the quiet beauty of this set!
