I have been working with angels for many years and have been making jewellery since I was a young child - mainly from beads and wire. When I became interested in the healing properties of crystals, my own angels spoke to me and inspired me to make individual pieces of jewellery to help others connect with their own angels and to help heal themselves on all levels.
This inspiration led to me making this particular necklace as a gift to a beloved friend, then my mother, and now whenever I wear my own piece I have people commenting on the energy of the piece and more orders follow. What I love the most about making these pieces, is that no two pieces are ever completely identical - each is made with the client in mind, connecting to their own angels for the perfect combination of colour and healing gemstones to enrich their life. I just love knowing that not only do people love to wear my jewellery, the piece is helping to heal them on all levels too, to bring increased health and peace into their life - which is the greatest gift I can give to others. |
About the Artist: Kate WhorlowI have been making jewellery since the age of eleven, when I wanted my ears pierced but my mother thought I was too young - so I bought pierced earrings and converted them to clip on earrings instead! This led to me designing and making my own earrings and I then became interested in beads of all varieties - I cannot pass a bead shop without calling in and I have boxes full of beads of all shapes and sizes waiting for the perfect project! I first started with basic stringing techniques, then I discovered different beading stitches which would keep me occupied for hours. Recently I have gone back to the basic stringing designs as the gemstone chips I use in my healing jewellery, I feel do not need any fancy beadwork to be beautiful and the energy of the pieces radiate on their own. I am inspired by the colours of nature, the blues and greens of the ocean, the amazing colours of butterfies and flowers - the leaves turning colour in Autumn. I love to combine colours and I particularly like to use rainbow colours as in my Angel Chakra Healing Necklace, as I just love rainbows! I can never tire of beading or making jewellery, I find there is always a new technique to discover or a new colour combination to try out, making jewellery is my way of chilling out and creating something that comes from my soul, which hopefully will inspire others to look around them at the wonders of nature and the natural world.
