Autumn Splendor | The creator of this piece says: The centerpieces of this necklace are Tazwood cherry burl cabochons with subtle inlays of turquoise. They inspired me to create Autumn Splendor. I first beaded around the cabochons, and then with a netting technique and embroidery, blended two sizes of wooden round beads, six colors of seed beads in three different sizes, as well as bugle beads and dyed cultured pearls. A brass toggle clasp seemed to be the perfect closure to my necklace. | Because it uses wood rather than stone, Autumn Splendor necklace is a light piece. |
About the Artist: Zoya GutinaI live in Alexandria, VA, a city rich in history, art, and culture. I've been beading for 5 years. I exhibit my fine objects in the Potomac Craftsmen Gallery at the Torpedo Factory Art Center, you can find my beaded jewelry in some art and jewelry stores in Washington Metropolitan Area. Inspiration for my designs come to me night and day. At night, when I close my eyes, fantastic colors and forms appear before me. Often, I cannot even find beads or stones equal to these glorious visions. During the day, my inspiration comes from the trees and flowers of spring, frozen geometry of winter, and the beautiful rise and set of the sun. View Zoya Gutina's website at MyLovelyBeads.com.
