I didn’t have a clear vision about this necklace when I first started working on it. The whole crafting process was initiated with the green bone frame as the main piece. I love green and was keen on making something fresh and bursting with energy, while keeping at the same time a certain sweetness.
For the “sweet” part I used the chinese lampwork bead, the central piece of the ensemble. And I thought I was done.
However, as I wanted the Chinese glass bead to fill the centre of the bone frame, I found myself with a little problem at hand. To hang it from the frame I decided to use a metal pin, which would raise in an unpleasant way and bring the bead up with it.
Therefore, to stabilize the composition, I added the little silver bead. Looking at it now, I find it brought more than one benefit to the necklace, as it added a bit of elegance and a bit of “value”.
As the result of my creation was a powerful, colorful pendant, I decided to use a very simple organza strand to complete the neck piece. I picked dark brown for its color, as I thought it would nicely balance the composition and would blend in with the slight “jungle” feeling of the necklace.
