Ocean Treasures Necklace | The creator of this piece says: Most of my inspiration comes from nature and the environment that I live in. I live on the north coast of British Columbia Canada in a small port/fishing town.
When I came across the wire mesh in the teal color I instantly thought of fishing nets capturing the sealife in its path. | This is my interpretation of that image in the form of a summer necklace, which I think can go from casual to elegant.
I have used a variety of beads including Mother of Pearl in white rounds and teal freeform frangia, pink coral and shell shaped metal beads. On the wire mesh I threaded small teal glass beads to represent the old glass floats that can still be found sometimes on the shore. The pendant is a very large Swarovski crystal starfish. I was quite proud of myself when I saw the finished product. |
About the Artist: Jacqueline TreriseI started beaded as a child but as I grew older my curiosity led me to try many different art forms. Beading just got left behind. But, about six years ago as I was browsing in a magazine store wondering what I could get my hands into next, I came across a beading magazine. I was hooked. I have tried my hand at all kinds of off loom beading techniques, which I love. I also enjoy working with wire. I have been dabbling in polymer clay and PMC to create my own pendants and beads.
I must confess...I am addicted!!! View Jacqueline Trerise's website at Jacqueline's Jewelry. Other Pieces by this Artist
