Pearl & Tigers Eye Necklace And Earring Set | The creator of this piece says: I purchased this gorgeous pendant from an online auction, but didn't like the pendant bail that came with it. It was too large. I cut it off and used industrial strength glue to attach a tiger's eye bead to the pendant and used it as an attachment point for the necklace. I then strung matching freshwater pearls and tiger's eye on stainless steel, 49 strand Acculon beading wire. To complete the necklace I crimped a sterling silver clasp in place. | The earrings were created by using a dremel to drill a 4mm depression in the coin shaped fresh water pearls. Industrial strength glue was then used to attach 4mm tiger's eye beads to the front surface of the pearls. After allowing the glue to set, I then used sterling silver wire to wire wrap additional sterling silver beads and a tiger's eye bead on to the unit. After creating a loop, I attached the earring base to an ear wire. |
About the Artist: Shelly CollinsI am a practicing Optometrist but, I find the daily grind of "which is better, one or two," to lack creative fulfillment. I have had no formal training in jewelry making. Everything I have learned has been through trial and many, many errors! I got my start in jewelry making when my favorite necklace fell apart and I decided to repair it myself. I discovered jewelry making was fun and a great channel for my creative energy. It wasn't long before I found myself making more jewelry than I could possibly wear. The rest, as they say, is history. View Shelly Collins's website at SlickDesigns. Other Pieces by this Artist
