Purple Swirl

The creator of this piece says: This piece started out as three hand-made lamp work beads. I had no idea what to do with them for over a month. One day I decided I was going to make something with them if it killed me. I had wanted to try a woven bail treatment and I thought this would be the perfect piece to try it out. Once the main pendant was completed the rest of the necklace just sort of made itself.

The pendant is made with 20 gauge sterling silver wire wrapped in 28 gauge fine silver wire. The three drops each contain a 4mm Swarovski crystal and faceted glass drop in purple. The hand made chain is made with links of decorative "S" loops and hearts in 16, 18 and 20 gauge sterling silver wire. The two smaller lamp work beads have been wrapped in 20 gauge and 26 gauge sterling silver wire. The pendant measures 3" from the top of the bail to the bottom of the lowest drop. The necklace measures 20" not including the pendant.

I have always enjoyed working with wire and various beads to see what I could create. My friends and family encouraged me to further develop the talent and see where I could go with it.

I am often inspired the works of other jewelers posting on various online jewelry forums. The willingness of others to share their pictures and give detailed descriptions of techniques and processes is just amazing.

Some of my favorite pieces to make are angels. I make a line of memorial jewelry that is completely inspired by my sweet baby Kelsi who died just a few days after birth. I have been told my pieces have a very angelic feel to them. I believe my sweet angel influences quite a bit of my style.
