Sea Shell & Pearl Pendant

Sea Shell & Pearl PendantThe creator of this piece says: This pendant was constructed of gold filled wire and fresh water pearls. I started this as an exercise in learning. I was following a tutorial written by Eni on the Beaded Bail. I decided to follow through using an undrilled sea shell that I've had for some time. First I had to drill a hole. Then I fed the tail wires from the bail through the hole and out the opening of the shell. After stringing each wire with the carefully chosen pearls, I crimped the end with a bead and then wrapped the remaining wire around the bottom pearls. Before I had finished stringing the second wire, I realized that I was making a hermit crab. I rapidly fell in love with it and I'm considering doing a series of these hermit crabs.

About the Artist: Sherome Fox

I am 65 years old and after growing tired of years of crocheting and knitting, decided to try my hand at jewelry in 2006. I fell in love with the wire wrapping jewelry and decided that was the direction that I wanted to go in. I am inspired by the work of others that love to display their work on the Wire Jewelry Forum on the Delphi Forum site.
