Two In One Seed Bead Knitted Cuff

Two In One Seed Bead Knitted CuffThe creator of this piece says: Inspired by my love of knitting as well as my love for beading, I decided to try making a hand knitted bracelet reminiscent of the peyote stitch or loom seed bead bracelet bands. I wanted to make a reversible pattern so that the bracelet could be worn on both sides.

I started this "Two in One Seed Bead Bracelet Cuff" by stringing over 300 gold plated and silver plated 4mm - size 6/0 seed beads into a set pattern onto 6 ply metallic cord. I then knitted the bracelet with # 2 bamboo knitting needles.

By knitting beads on each side of the fabric, one side would be silver with a gold stripe down the middle and the reverse side would be gold with a silver stripe down the middle. I then finished the bracelet with a silver plated slider clasp so that the bracelet can be worn on either side. The bracelet is unique in design, fun to make, and even more fun to wear!

The metallic cord acts as a base to the bracelet structure and the beads are nestled into the knitted fabric. While not a stretch bracelet the fabric has a slight give to it allowing for individual size variation. It measures approximately 7" long x 1" wide.
