 | Scrimshaw The art of intricate carving on ivory, and the resulting pieces. Since harvesting ivory is illegal due to overhunting, ethical scrimshanders use recycled ivory from old piano keys, extinct animals, and naturally shed antlers. | | | Seed Bead Available in an amazing array of colors, finishes, and styles, they are most often used in bead weaving and loomwork. Larger sizes are smaller, with 11/0 being the most common. More about Seed Bead | Snowflake Obsidian A form of obsidian that contains small white crystal impurities in the glass. The end result is a beautiful black color with grayish white patterns throughout the surface. Snowflake Obsidian is used as a stone of purity, helping you to recognize unnecessary patterns in your life. | | Soft-flex wire Soft-flex is a new form of tigertail, a flexible nylon-covered wire which is quite strong and great for making necklaces that are heavy or need to be durable. Soft-flex is more flexible and less prone to kinking than the older tigertail due to the incorporation of more strands in its construction.
